This petition is calling for the NSW State Government to assist Wollondilly Shire Council (WSC) in cleaning up Picton-Stonequarry Creek and for the construction of a 2-3m wide pathway starting at Picton Botanical Gardens running alongside Stonequarry Creek towards Maldon. The details of the project will be developed in consultation with the community and local businesses will be given priority to tender for the work.

This exciting new nature walk has the potential to attract more people to the area and residents using the pathway will have the ability to inform WSC of extreme weed growth and logjams that may cause the creek to overflow. The construction of a path and cleaning out of the Creek will assist with flood mitigation and protect businesses and residents of Picton from  flood incidents like what occurred in 2016.
