The bill states that if Doctors, physicians, physiologists, etc. try and help transgender kids with hormones/ hormone stoppers they will get arrested, and put in jail immediately. The bill also wants to try and ban same-sex marriages, they want to pass a bill that bans it in the future. As a LGBTQ+ kid who has  a lot of family in South Dakota, it’s very scary. A second bill has been passed that states that any Teacher, Doctor, physician, or social worker are required to out any students they suspect may be suffering from gender dysphoria to their parents. Which is definitely not safe for the student, especially if it’s not a safe environment. It’s incredibly dangerous. Both bills are going to negatively affect mental health in transgender people. I want to try and stop these bills, or at least try and make some sort of change. As someone who has to go out to South Dakota to visit family every year, this is incredibly scary. I am not transgender, but it’s still very scary. Please sign this petition. The rate of child suicides will definitely go up in South Dakota. I want to make it safe for the LGBTQ+ Community in SD. This bill sets a precedent for other states, and other states are already considering doing this.
