I am a 20 year old Student and still live with my parents, my mother is disabled and my father is a carer with daily struggles. Since I reached a certain age my parents benefits have had £800 out all their benefits including DLA and income support and are now living on less than £200 a month.

The reason for this is because I am able to work, but I am a student with only a part time job, how is less than £200 enough to for bills, gas, electric and food etc for a family of 3.

The benefit scheme is totally unfair imagine living like that, not being able to do or buy the things you want or need. It is not a life! Some families in the same position will be really struggling and it’s not good for people, it could cause people to develop depression and money anxiety and cause any mental health problems to worsen. People without disabilities and or mental health problems are receiving more money than the people who do really need it. The disabled and people with mental health issues and learning disabilities are the most vulnerable and need a steady income to keep them going to do the things they love.

Lots of families are in the same situation, but how is this fair? How can someone live on so little? People need a life too! I want an end to this unfairness as I just think this is just absolutely ridiculous.
