Students everywhere want to express themselves. It’s not fair to students that have straight A’s or students that are working towards things like college. One dress code violation shouldn’t affect the rest of that person’s life. Not to mention, these dress codes are incredibly sexist. Girls around the world shouldn’t be being told that their bodies are meant to be locked away. Telling little girls around the world that their shoulders are “distracting” to the male gender is unacceptable. Little boys as young as they are, should not be seen as predators in schools. It’s not a good image for little girls and boys that are still growing. These things are affecting the youth negatively. Some adults need to realize that things are changing. Look around, everything around us has evolved, from the ways we travel to the ways that we entertain ourselves. Why is everything changing, but the school system? Not including the fact that schools don’t take into account the parents that can’t afford to abide by their impossible dress codes. Not all parents can afford to change their child’s entire wardrobe.
