For centuries women have been told what to and not to wear, what body parts to show and not to show, but in 21st century America this should not be a thing allowed in the public school system. Girls shouldn't be banned from wearing sleeveless tops just because of the fact that they show their shoulders, this isn't something that in any way would distract other students, and specially shouldn't be allowed if it doesn't even apply to guys. According to the American Civil Liberties Union, dress codes are legal as long as they apply to both genders. Many petitions like this have been made around the US. Miami-Dade, the 4th largest school district in the country should be no exception.
