This is completely absurd and the dress code is highly targeting girls at school which is unfair Bc we cannot control how our body looks in clothes, stop sexualizing us we’re here to learn and get our education and not to be dress coded.

Us students here at Brentwood high school are not asking to wear whatever we want, we are asking for a reasonable dress code. All girls here are told that we need to cover up because we will “distract the boys” but the boys aren't told their distracting girls.

Remember, when you’re taking time out of that girls school day to send her home or make her change because her shorts are too short, or her bra strap is visible, you are telling her that making sure boys have a “distraction free” environment is more important than her education.  Instead of shaming girls for their bodies, teach boys that girls aren't just some sexual object and that they’re a human, just like seven billion other people in this world.  By enforcing a dress code like this, it perpetuates the, “boys will be boys” culture where boys' poor choices and behavior are excused and girls are held accountable for the boys' unexceptional actions.  Instead of forcing girls to cover up the little bit of our midriff teaching boys to control themselves will solve the problem (it is not all boys but the ones that were never taught how to treat a girl) .
