Keep Your RIGHT to VOTE for Our State Superintendent of Education!

Help The South Carolina Education Association keep fighting for YOUR voting rights!  Keep your right to VOTE for our State Superintendent of Education, and not be appointed by the Governor. Sign this petition NOW! Next week, the Senate’s Judiciary Committee, as well as the House of Representative’s Judiciary Committee will take up legislation for ballot referendums, that will amend the State Constitution to strip your voting rights by allowing the Governor to appoint the State Superintendent of Education.  If passed, this will be the third state constitutional officer position that will NOT be voted on by the general public.  Starting in 2018 the Governor will be allowed to select their running mate for Lt. Governor and to appoint the Adjutant General.  Go here to sign our petition in opposition to the appointment of the State Superintendent of Education by the Governor.
