The flooding of November 2019 had a big effect on local residents and businesses across Rotherham including Dinnington, Kilnhurst, Whiston, Parkgate and the town centre. 

• 135 homes flooded with 49 households still out of their homes. 
• Over 300 businesses were effected
• Kilnhurst school will be closed till Easter. 

The local council has mapped out the flood defence works that are needed to protect these homes and businesses in the future, at a cost of £51 million.
