Change negative marking of A Level Health and Social Care

The OCR exam board (Oxford Cambridge RSA) is downgrading every single A Level in Health and Social Care by 8 marks (in every piece of coursework and from every written exam) before it is even read by the examining board. The reason why? Health and Social Care is deemed ‘too easy’. Students who have studied, revised, researched, written, laboured over text books are having their work discriminated against by the examining board who awards the results. Students are not told about this disadvantage when they begin studying the subject. The exam board does not undertake this style of negative marking for any other exam – therefore this marking is unethical and makes students less motivated to try and do their best in A Level Health and Social Care.
The loss of 16 marks at AS and then at A2 equates to two grades, which means the difference of being offered a place at your chosen university and not being offered a place any university.
Please sign the petition to immediately stop this discrimination of an important A Level subject which requires extensive study and dedication – particularly at a time when the topic of health and social care is at the top of every political manifesto and the concern of every UK individual. Please help me to convince the exam board that this practice of down marking is not only unfair, it is totally 100% discriminatory.
