Why this petition matters

Synaptic pruning is something that helps the childhood brain to develop into adulthood. It is like pruning a hedge in a garden; to make it fuller we prune back. The same thing happens to teenage brains. It is this fact that affects most teenagers behaviourally.
You say, well we weren't like that. Teenagers have more now, so this solid foundation that we have created for them means that they can 'act out' more than perhaps we did.
There have previously been deaths due to education requirements connected to courses at universities in Great Britain - not particularly 'Great'! I don't want to mention those beautiful young people.
I am asking you to please sign this petition to prevent university courses from putting GCSE grades on their list of entry requirements for their courses. Not all courses request this, but many do.
There are teenagers dealing with the very real changes that are going on in their brains, who are very able and would make a fabulous contribution to our society. Unfortunately, many of them now are being pushed to the side because their brains are changing at the 'wrong' time for their exams. This is very unfair.
