Equal access for the general public to open green space in London is more important than ever as the diversity and numbers of London's population grows.
The Royal Parks policy statement declares that no religious group should be allowed to use the public space of the parks for purposes of religious worship.
This policy is intended to prevent the possibility of privileging one religious group's use of public space above another's and so to imply a moral, spiritual or cultural superiority of one religion over another.
In line with the Government's multicultural policies this Royal Parks policy statement should be supported and enforced at Hyde Park Speakers Corner and all other Royal Parks in London.
