I want to be able to see Buddy a 9 year old Blue Heeler returned to his rightful owner, a senior indigenous lady who relies heavily on this dog for therapeutic therapy. He has been in the Council pound for 4 months now suffering terrible anxiety and fear. Community members are supporting and have offered to assist this lady to care for the dog.She sometimes forgets and allows the dog to walk off lead. Some people in communities are not tolerant of dogs or have any understanding of a culture of people that roamed freely with their dogs for thousands of years in this country, and make unfounded complaints to councils . Because of their vulnerability these people do not have the tools to defend themselves and their dog.. Many other people as well in our community rely on companion animals to get them through each day. These people can be extremely traumatized persons and many of them go un diagnosed because these pets help them to remain calm. Day to day living is hard for these people scared with bad memories, they are not thinking about what they are suppose to be doing, they are just trying to get through each day and their pets help them to do this. For many they are the only family they have. Take these pet companions away from them and this will cost a community dearly. .
