Build a Flood Wall to Protect Us All

This petition had 220 supporters

The purpose of this petition is to ask our local government to reconsider the current plan of building the flood wall along the east bank of the canal along Westfield Blvd. This current plan would endanger 320 homes in the neighborhood of Rocky Ripple as well as leaving Butler University, an institution that brings pride to our state, unprotected.

This petition is requesting that our local government looks at the whole picture and chooses a more dynamic solution that can include and provide flood protection to all of the residents, businesses, and schools that are effected by this decision.

This petition is requesting that our local government and decision makers strongly consider the perspective and plan being presented by the BuildTheWallForALL campaign. The details of this proposal can be found on the campaign website:  BuildTheWallForALL.org

We believe it is the responsibility of our leaders to go above and beyond to protect their people if at all possible. And we know that in this situation, it is possible. Building the wall around the neighborhood of Rocky Ripple will ensure protection for ALL. It's that simple!

We challenge our local government and decision makers to make this choice, which is the best and most supportive for all concerned, even if it isn't the cheapest or easiest solution.

We know it is physically possible to protect everyone with a properly placed flood wall and we challenge our leaders to make that happen!!
