Petition Closed

In 2008, Jennifer Sheehan, a legal counsel for the RNC stated that "The RNC does not recognize a state’s binding of national delegates, but considers each delegate a free agent who can vote for whoever they choose.” This goes along the lines with RNC Rule 38, which states that no delegates may be bound under the unit rule. To be fair, many states do not initiate a "unit rule", as they leave some delegates unbound, such as RNC Delegates. But we believe that if the RNC stated through its legal counsel that delegates are unbound, they should stick to their own rules and unbind delegates. The RNC has used dirty tactics in the past, and we must hold them accountable for that and keep them in check come the convention.

We also call upon the Ron Paul 2012 Campaign to help us hold the RNC accountable and make sure they get their fair shot at winning the nomination in Tampa.
