Petition Closed

This is one of the few programs at Salt Lake Community College where the community can come to the school for a service. It costs the members of the community next to nothing to come in for hair cuts, colors, and shaves. There are several people who could not afford these services otherwise, because they do not have the money or are disabled. This programs allows members of the community to have a greater sense of self worth. It is the only program at the school that actually brings in money for these services. This program has been at the school for several years, and needs to continue to be a part of this school. There is talk about the President of Salt Lake Community College wanting to turn the school into a university. The fact of the matter is that the community needs a place where they can go to afford their education. They need a place where they can start over, and make a better life for themselves and their family. The future of the community is at risk here, and it is starting with the removal of the barbering and cosmetology program. Please help stop the removal of this program and the changing of the direction of this school.
