Joseph Ferrari started this petition to The Raymond Alf Museum

The Raymond Alf Museum is a paleontology museum on the Webb Schools campus in Claremont, CA that has a skeleton of camel on display. Currently, this camel bears the bland name of Ned. However, with enough support, we can cause the museum to change Ned's name to Alexander Camelton. This is a far superior name, as it is a prime example of punnery at its finest and is far more intriguing than simply Ned.

One benefit of renaming Ned is the educational benefit for children who visit the Alf Museum. The name Alexander Camelton opens up worlds of not just prehistory, but modern history.

In addition, if Ned was renamed to Alexander Camelton, that would allow for a whole slew of presidential-themed names for fossils, such as Thomas Jeffersonii (M. jeffersonii is an extinct species of sloth), and more.

Finally, the most important benefit of renaming Ned is that Alexander Camelton is just plain more fun than Ned.

Thanks for signing
