At our school we are doing a mock presidential campaign. Our group wanted to use the name " pussy power party". we support women's rights as well as human rights.(POC, lqbtqia+,any religion,any ethnicity,and gender.) were a feminist group who supports everyone. We made sure to get approval of the name from all of our teachers as well as the principal. We did our entire campaign, the name the logo the slogan. and at the last minutes were told we couldn't do it because the school was worried " how it would be perceived by the public".We put hours of work and effort into this only to be told no after already being told yes. our slogan was " take the word back take the world back" all because our school was scared how the public would handle the word pussy we have to redo everything. but on top of that we aren't able to stand up for what we really do want to stand up for. we want to take the connotations around the word pussy and turn them into something that's powerful.
