I’m sure everyone is aware by now of the role celebrities are playing in stopping coronavirus or providing relief to those affected, by which I mean most aren’t doing a damn thing besides whine in their mansions. I’m sure nearly everyone has seen the Imagine video Gal Gadot put out with the help of a bunch of her rich friends, which managed to be incredibly tone-deaf both literally AND figuratively. Or maybe you’ve seen the video of Ellen DeGeneres saying that she feels like she’s in prison (filmed inside her 3 million dollar LA mansion, might I just add). Either way, celebrities are slowly coming to realize how little a role they play in society, and what with the recent pandemic, they have become desperate to hang on to any sliver of fame they can (and we’ve all seen how that turns out). This petition aims to get the celebrities to shut up about their own little problems during the pandemic, as well as try to get them to play a more active role in funding healthcare relief programs themselves instead of asking working class people (many of which are unemployed at the moment) to do it on their own. There’s no concrete way this petition will actually affect them, but maybe if enough people sign then they’ll get the hint and shunt off.
