Allow transfer students to graduate with Honors

In order to graduate from Columbia College, Cum Laude, you must have 64 graded hours from Columbia College along with the required GPA. This puts quite a bit of transfer students in both the day and evening college unable to graduate with honors because they have completed hours at another College or University. Even if you have the required GPA, an A average, you will be denied the opportunity to graduate with honors. This is also something transfer students aren't made aware of when they enroll in Columbia College. We would like to change this. We work hard for our A's and feel they should be recognized even if we earned some of them outside of Columbia College. We are petitioning for the Provost to make the change to the school's policy so that transfer students are awarded the same honors that the students who have completed all of their credit hours at Columbia College receives. We don't want our hard work to be done in vein and we don't want future students to be discouraged when they find out they put in hard work, for good grades, that will go unrewarded.
