Prizes and awards are broadly undemocratic, perpetuate coercive power structures, and prop up meritocratic myths that should have died long ago. BUT, if you are going to have an award, you might as well apportion it sensibly. Within the logic underlying the Pritzker Prize, the committee committed an injustice against Denise Scott Brown. I encourage them to rectify it.

Women should have to stand behind or on the shoulders of me to get their contributions recognized.

When I was Head of the University of East London School of Architecture in the 1980s I appointed Christine Hawley as my deputy, and she went on to become my successor and later, Head of School at the Bartlett School of Architecture. I believe she has continued to receive the recognition she deserved for her superb contribution to architectural education, which is part of my personal reason for supporting recognition of the equal contributions of the professional service to architecture of Denise Scott Brown and Doriana Fuksas.

I'm signing (half way through reading the article which I will now finish) because I'm so pissed off with women being ignored, belittled, patronised.......

I agree of Denise Scott Brown, because as a woman and a student of architecture, we also deserve a recognition. We also struggling what men's in architecture, and what they are learning in, we also learning. This time not only men go out for work, can only do things physically, and can provide financial support, woman also. That's why we deserve equal recognition

For me these petition really caught my attention as a woman because it shows here that there is no equality between men and women which is a big wrong even because even a woman can do the things that a man can do especially in this field of architecture just don't discriminate a woman.
