The owner of @rieg.daddy, a meme account on Instagram, was forced to delete his account and suspended for five days from Woodcreek High School for nothing other than using part of a teachers name and a picture of him on the account. The picture was set as the profile picture and found on the teacher's public social media accounts and on Google Images. Part of the teachers name was used in the username, but the student never claimed or pretended to be the teacher. He referred to him in the third person, and everyone was aware that it wasn't the teachers account. This student will have a five day suspension for this show up on his record until he turns eighteen. That means that this student cannot apply for college until he is eighteen, or he risks having a lower chance because this minor offense will be on his record. Forcing a student to delete an account and face a five day suspension for a harmless joke is ridiculous and unjust. It prevents the student from learning, which goes against the whole point of school.
