Celebrate Easter and Christmas at Bribie Island State School

Easter and Christmas is an Australian Cultural Tradition that has been celebrated in primary schools throughout Australia for many generations. In 2013 Bribie Island State School did not celebrate Easter or Christmas. The Dept of Education Qld confirmed that we are allowed to celebrate Easter and Christmas, we must be mindful that some people may not want to or be allowed to. The P&C and The Principal of Bribie Island State School have voted against celebrating Easter in 2014, saying that it's too late to organise again this year. Other local schools in our area celebrate Easter with an Easter Hat Parade, and celebrate Christmas with an end of year Christmas concert. I feel very disappointed and saddened that children are missing out on celebrating special occasions within their primary school years. Please sign this petition to bring back Celebrating Special occasions such as Easter and Christmas at Bribie Island State School.
