Petition tabled in parliament
Apr 3, 2019 —
Our petition was tabled in parliament yesterday by Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi.
This was followed by a censure motion of Fraser Anning supported by all major parties.
Fraser Anning is unrepentant and unwilling to reflect on the harm caused by his words. It would be a tragedy if he were to be re-elected. I urge you all to continue the campaign against bigotry and hate speech by voting in our Federal election. Please take the time to research the candidates and vote for parties and politicians who will support an inclusive, compassionate society. I will be supporting The Greens in this election, given their integrity and track record in dealing with discrimination, refugees and other vulnerable people.
Regardless of your political leanings, I thank you all for participating in this wonderful show of people power and unified sentiment. Together we are strong.
Keep fighting for people power!
