Make it illegal to expel students for being gay in Australia

The federal government's recently leaked paper on "religious freedom", the product of an enquiry led by Philip Ruddock, includes a recommendation that it be made legal for religious schools to expel students and sack staff members for being gay or trans. Not only is this a disgusting idea - so disgusting that even Scott Morrison has walked back his support for it - but sadly it is one that's already the law in every state except Queensland and Tasmania.

We, the people of Australia, call on Scott Morrison and Bill Shorten to pledge never to introduce such a law, and on Daniel Andrews, Gladys Berejiklian, Mark McGowan and Steven Marshall to repeal the laws currently on the books in their respective states.
