Why this petition matters

Started by Kathy Hutchinson

Do you realize that your local paramedics and EMTS are not considered essential during this pandemic? This means they do not receive hazard pay, nor do they get the extra  check that is issued to doctors, nurses and firefighters! How is it that these hard working men and women can work 24 hr shifts..go home for 8 hrs and return to work for another 24 hrs, fighting the invisible monster that has crippled our country, plus handle many other emergencies, and not be considered essential!? I wonder what would happen if they just stopped answering 911 calls, and all their ambulances stayed parked. But of course that would never happen. They are passionate about the job they do and the lives they can save. I’m asking that they receive the same recognition as other health care providers. After all, they are also fighting the front lines and putting themselves and their families in harms way to   rescue us when we need them....you and me..the people staying home.   I believe they should all get at least $600 a week in addition to their pay, if not more, for being the hero’s that they are. Please sign the  petition so we can attempt to help them as much as they help us.
