I think Florida's sentencing laws are cruel and unusual punishment

I am signing this because my brother is in Prison for 25 years for drugs and this is unfair. Especially with all the cases we have seen in the past few years in Florida where we saw killers GET OFF.

I'm signing this because my boyfriend was ripped out of our car at 6:30 am the morning I was going in to be induced to have our first born son. Manatee sheriff's office went against my rights and got into my confidential hospital files to find out when I was having out son and surrounded us, yanking my boyfriend out, throwing him on the ground, and telling me I had to put my labor off so they could arrest him because he's a "hardened criminal". Before me an him got together he was arrested on drug charges. When we were together we opened up a mechanic business and he was doing his job as a man to support his family. They judge sentenced him to 5 years, he grew up without his dad and his mother's boyfriend would beat his mother in front of him and his brothers. He didn't have the best childhood and now our son won't know his father until he is 5 years old. It is not fair to him. Please allow this petition to be passed and get all the fathers who are not violent offenders come home to their families.

Of primary importance is the potential damage to Mr. Horner's relationship with his family, and to his children whose father has been taken from them. Secondarily, the unconscionable disparity between the length of Mr. Horner's sentence, and those handed out to government and corporate officials whose crimes where far more damaging to their victims. Further, that the level of compassion of judges, prosecutors, and lawyers are so lacking that they could send a man away for 25 years for, one, trying to help another person and two, because he was entrapped. This is sickening to the core! To get the needed number of signatures, may I suggest that if Change.org, and it's staff, are genuinely concerned about Mr. Horner's case, that you send out an appeal to the 78+ MILLION people supposedly taking action, and request that they help boost the number of supporters to the "9437 needed"? Why not, feature Mr. Horner's story on your home page and strongly encourage people to support the campaign for his release?

This is just plain injustice. Mr. Horner should be pardoned either by Gov. Scott or the president.
