Prevent the FDA from putting unnecessary regulation on E-Cigarette and Flavored E-Liquid.
This is important because millions of Americans have stopped smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes and found E-Cigarettes to be a suitable substitute. This substitute is genrally recognized as a healthier alternative to tobacco cigarettes which include Acetone, Acetic Acid, Ammonia, Arsenic, Benzene, Butane, Cadmium, Formaldehyde, Hexamine, Lead, Napthalene, Methanol, Tar, Toluene, and the countless other ingredients.
We ask that you sign this petition and help us convince the President of the United States of America to prevent the FDA from taking this detrimental action. The following letter is being sent to the President and we ask that you the great citizens of this nation to sign this petition to accompany this letter:

Dear Mr. President:
While we don’t have big titles like Molly Cooke, President American College of Physicians or Harold Wimmer, CEO of American Lung Association, we do have the most important title of all, Citizens of the United States of America. As citizens of the United States of America we have a right to freedom. Freedom to vape E-Cigarettes and freedom to vape whatever flavors we find appealing.
The anti E-Cigarette groups claim that adding flavors is a mechanism to attract young children. This just isn’t true. This is merely a fictitious reason to try and ban something that makes others happy. Tell me Mr. President do you like ice cream? Do you like going to Baskin Robin’s and choosing the flavor that you like the most? Well if you give into these activists, next they will be trying to ban flavored ice cream. Then maybe you could understand how we feel. Just because we are adults doesn’t mean we don’t like flavor. Doesn’t mean we don’t like Gummy Bear E-Liquid after a lunch, or Coffee Flavored E-Liquid after breakfast, and maybe some blueberry E-Liquid after dinner.
Mr. President all these people who are against E-Cigarettes, a recognized healthier alternative to tobacco cigarettes are against humanity. They would rather see adults smoke tobacco, develop COPD, cancer, and die a horrible death. Those of us that promote E-Cigarettes are for humanity a world where people can have the freedom to do what they enjoy without the harassment of those that disapprove. Those that cry out because the use of E-Cigarettes are increasing amongst youths need to start targeting the parents of these youths.
We have become a society where everyone expects society as a whole to parent his or her children. This is not society’s responsibility. I parent my children, I make sure my children don’t smoke tobacco or vape E-Cigarettes, and if they did, I wouldn’t blame the makers of E-Cigarettes, I would blame myself, because it’s my job to make sure they don’t. Instead of taking away the rights and freedoms of every American we need to start penalizing the parents. I’m sure if parents got a fine every time their children smoking, there would be a lot less children smoking.
I’m not going cite all the articles and publication by the CDC, FDA, and all the other various groups, but I will cite something more important. The Declaration of Independence states:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”.
We should all be reminded of what this country stands for. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Smoking E-Cigarettes make myself and millions of other American’s happy. What right does anyone have to tell all of us that we can’t smoke E-Cigarettes, in the flavors of our choosing.? Let’s also remember the Bill of Rights and the 9th amendment, which states:
“The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.”
Mr. President please explain to the Citizens of this country what this means because I fear everyone has lost the meaning of this. If you allow the FDA to tread on my rights by banning the sale of flavored E-Liquid for use in E-Cigarettes then you will have violated my rights and the rights of every other American Citizens. If we continue to remove the very basic of rights we have left than we have bigger issues than E-Cigarettes.
Thomas McInerny, Harold Wimmer, Douglas Henley, Christopher Hansen, Hai Lawrence, Molly Cooke, Georges Benjamin, Stephen Crane, Matthew L Meyers, Cheryl Healton, Robert Pestronk, Paula Rieger, Rose Matuilionis, and Debra Katzman all signed a letter addressed to you regarding flavored tobacco products, nowhere in that letter did a see anything regarding flavored alcohol.
Why is that? Could it be because they all enjoy their liquor? Let’s face it alcohol comes in many flavors, flavored beer, flavored liquor, flavored wine. The alcohol companies must be targeting young children. Everything they stated points to the fact that E-Cigarette companies are targeting children by using flavors, so it must also be the case for alcoholic beverages as well. If society were to make this case against the liquor industry we would be looked at and said we were crazy. Well it’s just as crazy to say the same about the E-Cigarette industry
Let’s talk about E-Liquid that is smoked in E-Cigarettes. The anti E-cigarette activists also tout that it’s unregulated and no one knows what’s in it. I’m going to call bullshit on this one because everyone knows what’s it. USP grade Propylene Glycol. It’s used in Tooth Paste, Breath Strips, Baby lotion, nasal Spray, Yogurt, Ice Cream, and prescription inhalers. Also in E-Liquid is USP Grade Vegetable Glycerin. Vegetable Glycerin is used in cough syrup, hospital IV fluid, weight loss pills, eye drops, and as a preservative for food. Both of these main ingredients are USP Grade and generally recognized as safe by the FDA.
The other two ingredients are Food Flavoring, which is also generally recognized as safe and of course nicotine if you so choose. This is no big secrete and it’s certainly by all standards much better than Acetone, Acetic Acid, Ammonia, Arsenic, Benzene, Butane, Cadmium, Formaldehyde, Hexamine, Lead, Napthalene, Methanol, Tar, Toluene, and the countless other ingredients in a cigarette. So please Mr. President explain to the millions of people who have given up smoking all the terrible chemicals in tobacco cigarettes why they can’t smoke something that is way healthier than a tobacco cigarette and in a flavor of their choosing that taste much better.
We the citizens of the United States of America urge you to do everything in your power to not strip us of our freedoms and ensure the FDA does not take any action against this wonderful alternative to tobacco cigarettes.
