Hi, I am Caius, and I am 13 years old. I care about the world's problems and I have a proposal.

I have a proposal to sell Alaska to Canada, because I think that Alaska is an unnecessary state to own, and here is why. Alaska is very split apart from the United States, and is bordered by Canada. Alaska is far more northern and is bordered by Canada, so I think that we should get a US territory like Guam and turn it into a state if we still wanted 50 states. Canada is a very cold place, and so is Alaska, and instead of having to cross the border and then cross back to get to Alaska, why not just make it in Canada so that we don't have to travel across two borders?

Alaska has a population of 731,545 people, which is not that much for a large territory like that. As of 2019, the population of Canada is 37,590,000 people. If we divide the number of territories by the population, we would get the average number of people per territory. Because there are 13 territories and provinces, we would find out that the average number of people would round up to about 2.9 million people. This is a pretty close number to the number of people that live in Alaska, considering that Alaska is part of the United States, and not a part of Canada

Both the United States and Canada would benefit from this. Canada would be able to take salmon fishing to a new level, they would be able to experience fresh Alaskan salmon, and would be able to sell the fish and import the fish to different countries to make money. They could use the Bering Sea to travel, which is only a 30-mile waterway that separates Russia from Alaska. It takes Alaska away from the United States, which is a pretty useless state, and it gives Canada a whole new territory that can be transformed into something more useful than if it was controlled by the United States.

The United States would make a profit! If we bought this land for $7.2 million dollars (USD), this land is big. Even though there are 586,000 square feet of land, it is still very useless because of Alaska's geographical location. We could try to deceive a country into thinking that this land is large (because it is) even though it is useless, and we could make a lot more money. That is a lot of land, keep in mind.

We should have a talk with the 17th president of the United States, also known as Andrew Johnson. Alaska was purchased by the United States through a treaty on October 18, 1867. Even though they bought this land from Russian Empire for less than two cents per acre, or $7.2 million dollars (USD) for a land that is 586,000 square feet, this state is in a terrible geographical location, causing it to be useless. Lastly, the United States has 50 states, so sell one wouldn't hurt much, especially if you make a profit off of it and you get rid of a useless state. Alaska is useless to the United States.

This is why we should sell Alaska to Canada.

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION!!! WE NEED TO GET RID OF ALASKA IMMEDIATELY!!
