Designate the month of August as Armenian American Heritage Month

We are calling on President Obama and the U.S. Congress to designate the month of August as Armenian American Heritage Month. We are also calling on Representative Adam Schiff (CA-29), a leader in Congress on Armenian American issues, to introduce and sponsor the bill that would allow this to occur.

Armenian Americans have been living in the United States for generations. Their contributions to this country span the fields of business, science, law, medicine, public service and the arts. Armenian American culture has also benefited the United States by promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, social justice, and tolerance for people of all backgrounds. It would be most appropriate to have a month dedicate to the culture and achievements of Armenian Americans.

Letter to
Representative Tony Cardenas
U.S. House of Representatives
U.S. Senate
and 1 other
President of the United States
I just signed the following petition addressed to: President Obama and Congress.

----------------
I am writing to you today urging you to create a bill that would designate the month of August as Armenian American Heritage Month. Various ethnic groups across our country also have months dedicated to their contributions to our society, including Irish Americans, Asian Americans, African Americans, and Hispanic/Latino Americans. I believe it would be most appropriate to have a month dedicate to the culture and achievements of Armenian Americans.

Armenian Americans have been living in the United States for generations. Their contributions to this country span the fields of business, science, law, medicine, public service and the arts. Armenian American culture has also benefited the United States by promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, social justice, and tolerance for people of all backgrounds.

As a proud American of Armenian descent, I can say without hesitation that this bill would bring great pride and happiness to our community.

Sincerely,
