Dear Mr. President 

We write to ask for your support for the people of Madibeng Local Municipality. Madibeng if translated means "Place of water" indeed Mr. President our area has plenty of water. There are many rivers flowing into our dam (Haartebeespoort). With one of the largest rivers in the country passing through our municipal area, being the Crocodile River. Haartebeespoort Dam has never ran dry, it is always full.

For the past 15 years our area has been subjected to water supply interruptions which are unjustifiable or are being caused by lack of leadership in the municipality. When water is supplied, it is dirty and not safe for drinking. This has been going on for long time Mr. President. We have seen various levels of government under the leadership of the ruling party, attempting to bring interventions, but till today we're still experiencing the same challenge. None of your government's intervention have yielded any positive results, but has plunged us deeper into crisis.

When there was water contamination at the Vaal Dam, you responded promptly Mr. President. You were able to prevent the worst that could have happened, now the question is: "was it because it was affecting the people of Gauteng or was it because, it was the right thing to do? In Madibeng people died, properties burned, people got beaten and arrested. Mr. President, what more should happen for your prompt response?

We therefore request that our President, to deploy the Army to take full control of the Brits Water Treatment Plant, the Reservoirs around Madibeng, as well as the Cleaning of Haartebeespoort Dam.
