Why this petition matters

Started by Rob Wise

This petition is started to encourage the President, Congress, and state Governors to mobilize FEMA to solve our nation’s homelessness crisis.

Can we not say that Homelessness has become a national emergency?  Can we not say that many homeless suffer from mental illness and addiction?  Is not the measure of a great country determined by how we help and protect those most vulnerable?  Some may argue that FEMA should be reserved for crisis such as hurricanes and tornados, but in homelessness do we not have a greater crisis of hopelessness and despair?

The homeless have not a voice;  please sign this petition to give a voice to basic humanity.  Be their voice.  Speak it loudly and without reservation!  Through solving homelessness we may also solve and treat their mental illness and addiction issues.  The first step is to provide them some dignity through basic housing.  FEMA has many prefabricated shelters that should be deployed nationwide until this criss is resolved.  As a nation, we must provide the very basic necessities to our homeless population:  A shelter, three meals a day, warmth, and access to mental health and addiction services.

How can we call ourselves the greatest nation on Earth while we do not help those most in need? Please sign this petition and let us together, prove to the world, that the United States of America is indeed the greatest nation.  Thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully sign this petition.
