We want Ballyogan Pool built
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!
The Samuel Beckett Civic Campus in Ballyogan serves Leopardstown, Stepaside, Carrickmines, Glenamuck Foxrock and Sandyford.
There will be huge residential developments in our area over the next few years. The area is void of suitable community facilites to meet the future needs of residents. We need to be planning ahead and getting the facilities we need.
The completed campus is to include a library, gym, pool, childcare, playground, astro pitches, full size sports pitches, skatepark and more.
The plan was to build the campus in two phases. The first phrase was completed last year but the project could be shelved and/or risk failure becuase of tender inflation.
The expected cost of completion is €20million. As each year goes by the cost could increase by as much as €1million.
The council can fund half and other external sources of funding are required to deliver Phase Two.
Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council sought financial assistance from the Dept of Sport's Local Authority Swimming Pool but lost out.
According to Minister Ross, that fund has no money anymore.
So, in order to obtain funding we need to ensure that our TDs (and councillors) ensure that this issue remains a top priority.
We are calling, particularily on government TDs to ensure that a large part of the remaining funding is provided by central government.
Please add yout name to our list to ensure the funding and have marvellous facilities for generations to come.
