Stop the Proposed Development INSIDE a Children's Park on McMillan Street, Deptford SE8

We are campaigning to stop the proposed development of a three storey building inside the children's park in Charlotte Turner Gardens on McMillan Street, Deptford SE8 in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

This children's park is the only enclosed, green, dog free safe space that is used by local families, families who attend the local primary schools and nurseries as well as the Armada Community Hall.

This proposed development will impact greatly on the community. The proposed building will overlook the park, the Community Hall and local homes resulting in a loss of privacy, sunlight and natural light. The park is home to birds, animals, trees and flowers which need protecting.

During any construction the narrow street will become extremely dangerous as one of the pavements will be out of use. The park will become unusable and much of it will be taken up with construction equipment and building materials. There will be excess heavy traffic on the street causing pollution and the construction will cause pollution and will be very dirty.

What kind of a message will this send to other developers? They will see every strip of land as a potential development site at the expense of green spaces that families crave.
