Why this petition matters

Why are hijabs getting overpriced? A typical hijab measures about 20-90 inches wide available in many colors and patterns, fabrics and sizes. The typical “everyday hijab” just fits around the hair and the neck ranging around 60inches. For common fabrics like cotton, etc., and at a good quality level, you can expect to pay between $7 and $20 per YARD. So please help me understanding why a silk hijab is costing $95. As a hijabi this is frustrating and beyond embarrassing for the sellers and models. Why promote for a high end price? Who are the rich buyers? And how does my $5 hijab differ from this? Let’s not even mention why modest clothing in general are so hard to find and way over priced than revealing clothing. A plain black abayah should not be costing more than $100. This not only makes it difficult for Muslims to dress modestly but also saddens to see they can’t support Muslim business. Please make your modest clothing cheaper or better yet, help us understand the ruling for the pricing. So we can support you! Fancy names for the colors shouldn’t raise the price for something it’s not worth.
