2020 has been a tough year already. Chances are, it will get a whole lot tougher. The economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic could have dire consequences on our community. That is why I am taking the pledge to spend every penny for the rest of 2020 in St.Johns county. I believe we can pull together as a community and support each other through this financial crisis. What does Every Penny Twenty Twenty mean?
For the next eight months I pledge;
No online shopping, unless with a local company.
No vacations outside St.Johns county. Plan a staycation instead.
I will hold off on any purchase outside the county till 2021.
I will try and locate locally owned business’s and spend my money with them. Remember, if you spend money at a non-locally owned business in the county you are still supporting their staff.
If we can change our spending habits for the rest of the year it could have an amazing effect on our local economy. Please share the page and post any suggestions on ways to maximize our spending power as a community.
