Mayor Jenny Durkan has consistently shown that her only allegiance is to the police and the powers signing their checks. After she has been caught lying about meeting and cooperating with community leaders and voices, telling cops to turn off body cams and cover badge numbers, falsely representing people as speaking for BLM when they have no association, combined with a history of covering up police violence, we can no longer tolerate someone like her running this city. 

We must come together and show Mayor Durkan and anyone else who would presume to represent Seattle what that really means. Seattle is not corporations, skyscrapers, sports teams, or Jeff Bezos. Seattle is the people, and the people demand better. We will not stand for this insipid, bootlicking, heartless mode of leadership in this city. We will demand that true, lasting police reform happen now, that anyone who wants to call themselves mayor or sit on the city council must understand that they are there to represent the people, and right now the people are being maimed and slaughtered in our own streets by the public employees we pay to protect us.

We deserve a mayor who cares, not one who lies. Mayor Jenny Durkan must resign immediately.
