The closing of The Northwest Police Department is not only a very serious possibility, it is a liability as well. As a citizen of this area as well as business manager I rely on The NW Police Dept continually, as does everyone else. The Leland Police Dept as well as the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Dept does an excellent job. However this county is huge, we certainly do not need less coverage if any changes are to be made it should be adding officers, not closing Police Departments. Safety Conditions are certainly not improving. The drug situation is certainly not improving. This decision will not only have far reaching consequences on the citizens of Northwest it will effect every one, law enforcement coverage will be stretched, less officers, longer repose time. This is a critical decision that will have an impact on us all. Please I urge you to not only sign this petition, but share it and make every effort to attend the public meeting and be HEARD. I know we count on the Northwest Police Dept. for so many serious issues, dealing with the public creates its on set of problems, many of which  are dangerous. The Northwest Police Dep. response time is a comfort to all that live and work in this area. We cannot accept anything less. They are wonderful  caring officers who make us all feel safe and cared about. Please let’s take a stand now. More information will be shared once it is received.
