Make Penn State Smoke-Free

Tired of breathing in cigarette smoke on campus? You are not alone. I have always been susceptible to cigarette smoke; it smells horrible and it's bad for health, with consequences such as lung cancer and many cardiovascular diseases. Second hand smoke includes thousands of harmful chemicals such as nicotine, formaldehyde, tar, and carbon monoxide. It even contains carcinogenic chemicals like arsenic, which is used in rat poison.
Many other universities have implemented the smoking ban, including ten out of the fourteen Big Ten Schools. Penn State has been talking about going smoke-free for how long? A decade? What's holding us back?
If you don't want the toxic chemicals in second hand smoke, but instead want to enjoy clean, smoke-free air on campus, please sign this petition and share it on social media.
