Pro-rating Ohio State Tuition for Online Classes
Why this petition matters
The Ohio State has recently made many of their classes online. I, a student at tOSU, have a schedule now completely made up of online classes. I just got into the college of business and I am starting to take major specific classes. I will not be able to utilize The Fisher College of Business’ great facilities as well as the classroom experience I pay tuition for. I am sure I am one of many students such as freshman who this would be a great detriment to. For example, the famous online university, University of Phoenix, has a tuition of 9,552 for their undergraduate program. Ohio State’s tuition is around 11,000. With tOSU’s classes being all online, what makes it so different for University of Phoenix or other significantly cheaper online schools. tOSU has such a great classroom atmosphere that fosters learning. However, being in a zoom call with other students is their bed is simply not a proper studious atmosphere. I hold the belief that since Ohio State is not supporting in-person classroom studies (one of the aspects they pride themselves on when trying to get high schoolers to go there) they should cut their tuition by a significant margin. We understand that their will be loses but why take it out on the students.
