Dogs and cats are the play mates of the under-fives( one of the beneficiaries of the free-health care service). They most times eat and play together. Therefore the sustainability of this initiative will be under jeopardy if these so-called companions of the children are not considered. For example, frequent shortage of drugs is the present key challenge of the initiative. The under-fives are supplied with drugs, they play with their sick companions(the pets), get sick again and are taken to the hospital for another drug supply. the result is no doubt is rapid run down of drugs in stock.
