Finals are quickly approaching and now more than ever study spaces are imperative for academic success. The students on the ground and first floor of Panther hall are severely disadvantaged in this aspect as our study lounge is currently being used for storage by the Office of Residence Life. As a community, we feel strongly that there needs to be a change in this so that we may have the same academic and social spaces that are available to the rest of the residents in our hall. Without a study lounge, we're forced to resort to trying to find spaces in other lounges or go to other locations on campus which is an added stressor on top of the already taxing experience of being a student. In addition to hindering our academic success, it has also significantly decreased our ability to form a floor community. As a result of this, we are kindly asking that the Office of Residence of Life reconsider their decision to use our study lounge as a storage closet.
