Essential Health Care workers in Social Services has been granted permission from Medicaid to work remotely. Currently, The Office of Mental Health has not given permission for Health Care Social Service workers to work from home or have a reduced schedule. Most essential Health Care Social Service workers have to home school children. We all have other family members we live with and are afraid of exposing to the Covid-19 virus. Please grant us permission to work remotely or have a reduced schedule.

By allowing Health Care workers in Social Services to work remotely we lessen the chances of becoming exposed or exposing others. From home Health Care workers in Social Services can also take time to assist children with school work, caregiving duties of older adults, as well as other family members.

This will lessen the anxiety levels and allow Health Care workers in Social Services to function better.

Many of the Health Care workers in Social Services have to commute on public transportation to get to work. Many live far and have to travel a distance before reaching work and going home. Commuting publicly is placing these individuals in danger.

Health Care workers in Social Services understand it is our duty to care for others. However, how can we care for others if we are not well.
