Timothy Scriven started this petition to The NSW Government

Despite not a single documented case of transmission happening outside (c.f. https://www.9news.com.au/national/nsw-health-no-covid-transmission-confirmed-outdoors-during-pandemic/ea6b1847-21da-47cb-b580-d7600119a1f7 ), the NSW government has recently:

1. Banned groups larger than two persons exercising together outside unless they belong to the one household.

2. Required people to carry identification to prove that they are not more than ten kilometers from their home when exercising outside.

The first measure risks encouraging people to meet inside, where the police can't see them.

The second measure disproportionately punishes the poor, who are less likely to carry ID, as well as renters, who in the Sydney property market frequently have to move, and the homeless.

Meanwhile, the steps that might actually work, for example, shutting down non-essential businesses which remain open in defiance of government orders, have not been done.

We are not opposed to the lockdown. We just don't believe in counterproductive and punitive displays like this. Spending time outside is one of the safest things you can do. Stop this draconian nonsense.
