Rebuild an affordable grocery store in La Loche, Saskatchewan

To the decision-makers at North West Company,

On April 24, 2018, the Northern Foods store in La Loche, Saskatchewan burnt to the ground. Many members of the community are devastated by this, as it was the main source of affordable groceries in the area. Food insecurity is now a major concern for many people. Although alternative arrangements are being made to provide the residents of La Loche with grocery options, a lack of long-term solutions as well as the rising cost of food is very concerning.

La Loche is a remote northern village, as is the neighboring Clearwater River First Nation. Many people relied on your store to feed their families. This petition is signed by people who wish to see the Northern Foods store rebuilt BEFORE WINTER, with grocery prices the same as they were before the fire.

The cause is simple: everyone deserves affordable access to food. Please consider the signatures on this petition and the residents of La Loche and Clearwater River in your decision.
