The musician "Future," born as Nayvadius Wilburn, has played a vital role in revitalizing public discourse around persisting questions of masculinity, ambition, and the process of enduring heartbreak and jealousy. His craftsmanship has inspired countless men to examine their deepest convictions and turn the page on their darkest personal chapters.

He is a polarizing figure, for his brash method of transforming poison into medicine is haunting and usually involves emotional collateral damage. Despite this, one would be mistaken to neglect or ignore his considerable cultural footprint.

Most notably, his work "Codeine Crazy," – a standout single from the landmark project Monster – has incited a renewed interest in strange relationship between the abuse of prescription drugs and remarkable streaks of creative expression.

Some men process their trauma through quiet reflection and the written articulation of their emotions. Future opts for a more flamboyant approach. As noted in the aforementioned piece, when faced with a new round of adversity, Future "take[s] all [his] problems and drink out the bottle and [redacted] on a model."

Regardless of one's stance on the approach, one must admire the audacity.
