It's hard to be a Mets fan. The Mets are a baseball team, but we're not that great at winning baseball games. Since our spectacular collapse in 2007, we've seen our team blow game after game, season after season. But we still show up, because we love our team, and we care about more than just winning (I mean come on, we're better than Yankee fans).

But now reports are surfacing that the Mets are considering trading our number one pitcher, R.A. Dickey.

More than just being a 20 game winner (who SHOULD have started the 2012 All Star Game), R.A. Dickey has become the heart and soul of the Mets' organization. His personal integrity and inspiring comeback story are emblematic of the reasons we love our team: We're not arrogant or showy, we're just people who truly love baseball.

So Mr. Alderson, please don't trade R.A. Dickey. As Met fans, we don't have much to root for, and we really, really love rooting for him.

The 2012 season was another losing one, but despite that, we had some amazing high points -- none more exciting than the incredible season of R.A. Dickey.
