The center of this reading is how the needs of human opposes with the needs of environment. As human beings are a part of the environment, we have an enormous influence on nature. 

Often times, this influence is not favorable to the environment. Human beings often take advantage of the nature and the environment, just to supply themselves with their needs. Disregarding the consequences that the environment experiences. 

This is the purpose of this article, this is to warn human beings about the long term effects of human activities to the environment. The nature is our main supplier of goods. Therefore, humans need to understand that it's protection should be our top priority. 

The concept of anthropocentrism, wherein, humans are the only, or primary holder of the moral standing is what we are experiencing right now. Which is inaccurate since we are nothing if we don't have the environment. People who have an Anthropocentric perspective often find it difficult to acknowledge that their survival depends on the survival of the environment. Our SURVIVAL is at stake! Our friends, our home, and our life. 

Let us do the younger generations a favor, let's not deprive them of a home that they deserve. Don't be self-centered, Think about the environment, OUR environment.
