Evidence is clear, defibrillators save lives!

While the Australian Resuscitation Council states having a Defibrillator is good practice, there are no current regulations or guidelines that state rugby league grounds are required to have a Defibrillator (St Johns Ambulance).

1) If you apply the defibrillator within 1 minute of a player suffering a lethal cardiac event, there is a 70% chance of survival.

2) Every minute without a defibrillator, decreases the chance of survival by 10%.

3)  Ambulance response times are between 7-10 minutes and are longer in regional or rural areas.

4) There is currently NO requirement that rugby league grounds require a defibrillator.
