Sam Edem started this petition to The National Assembly & the National Executive Council of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Dear Compatriot,

I am a democrat and certainly embrace its complimentary economic ideology called, capitalism.

However, it is simply ridiculous that a nation with over 25 million unemployed youths - mostly within the ages of 18 - 35 should have telecommunication companies providing data waivers for WhatsApp but will not do same for e-learning sites during this global health crisis (at least under institutional or identifiable organizational packages) to enable even a million young people access free digital skills programmes by Google, Coursera and the likes and gain a chance to move up the economic opportunity ladder.

It is nothing but an attack on our future as a nation already made somewhat bleak by a consistent misplacement of priorities and indeed by a Covid-19 pandemic which we were ill-prepared for as a country.

I refuse to just watch this go by as the many other abnormalities in our beloved country- Nigeria; sign this petition and let's send a message for some tangible change in the right direction.

Thank you so much!

Sam Edem.
