We the undersigned are property owners, and taxpayers in Nassau County. Many, if not most of us are registered voters.  We have a right to know approximately what we will be paying in property taxes beginning in October 2020.   We understand that whether or not the Legislature approves the Taxpayer Protection Plan could have a dramatic impact on the taxes that we pay.   We understand that some people will pay more if the TPP is approved, and that some people will pay less in October 2020. Conversely, we know that if the TPP is not approved, some people will pay more in October 2020 and others will pay less. In extreme cases people might have to pay thousands of dollars more.  The purpose of this petition is not to Tell The Legislature How to vote: The purpose is to tell the Legislature that it must vote NOW. It has had more than enough time to evaluate the issues, and we residents have to budget for October 2020.  Continued inaction by the Legislature threatens to destabilize not only family budget's but the County's robust real estate market. Put residents ahead of politics and hold the vote.
